YOUR MAMAS NOTES: We know there are those out there who could care less about the real estate activities of the glitzy and ostentatious and sometimes tawdry women from The Real Housewives of... series but we also know there are scads of children who do. For those folks we bring you an elephantine Roswell, GA red brick mansion listed with a price tag of $2,999,000 and most recently rented (and even more recently vacated) by wigtastic Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) Kim Zolciak and her new husband, professional pigskinner Kroy Biermann.

Miz Zolciak and Mister Biermann we're seen moving in to (and decorating) the massive manse on the most recent season of RHOA and the quickly procreating couple—she's already preggers with her fourth and their second child—were married on the property in mid-November 2011 in an expensive ceremony taped—natch—for her spin off reality program Don't Be Tardy For The Wedding.

The 2+ acre estate was never actually owned by Mister Biermann and/or Miz Zolciak but rather rented to them by a local lady decorator named Kendra Davis and her former NBA star husband Antonio Davis. Prior to their 2011 lease, the (approximately) 15,600 square foot red brick Transitional-Traditional-style mansion had been listed for $4,200,000—later dropped to $3,250,000.

Listing information shows the 3-story beast of an abode has a total of 6 bedrooms, 6 full and 4 half bathrooms, 5 fireplaces, 3 full kitchens, 3 family rooms, 2 laundry rooms, 10-foot ceilings and garage parking for 4 cars and 1 elevator. And that's not counting the "caterers' planning office," the "gentlemens library," billiard room, home theater, gym or double-height, impress-the-guests-style foyer. Outdoor amenities include a deep shaded terrace, improbably called a "lanai" on listing materials; a broad, open-air terrace; swimming pool and spa with waterfall; and a sport court.

Strangely but in typical Housewives fashion, the lady landlord and Miz Zolciak has some sort of silly Twitter war recently with allegations of unpaid rent and Your Mama recently heard from a southrun snitch we'll call Chatty Charlie who tattled to us the scuttlebutt on the Atlanta area real estate gossip highway is that the Zolciak-Biermanns asked for a 4-month extension on their lease but were, for unknown reasons, denied. According to Chatty Charlie, the Zolciak-Biermanns were levied a $600 fine for every day they remained in the house beyond their (expired) lease and did not move out until a eviction notice was served.

The Zolciak-Biermanns hastily packed up the kids and wigs moved out about two weeks ago ago, according to Chatty Charlie, and decamped back to Miz Zolciak's townhouse-type condominium in Duluth (GA). Chatty Charlie also told Your Mama that Miz  Z. is going around telling people she and Mister Biermann are building a "bigger and better mansion" to house their fast-growing family in an as-yet unrevealed location.

We don't know a damn thing about this (alleged) bigger and better mansion but if interweb reports are true—and they may or may not be—the big living couple can certainly afford to build a giant mansion in suburban Atlanta; He reportedly earns an average of just over $3 million a year doing his thing for the Atlanta Falcons (on a three year contract) and, although Bravo says it's ain't true, some reports indicate she rakes in as much as three quarters of a million clams a year for appearing on RHOA.

We can't verify those income figures but we do know that in mid-June (2012) Miz Zolciak's former bacherlorette pad condo in a gated community in Duluth was taken off the (open) market after having been listed (on and off) since December 2010 when it popped up for sale with a $499,000 asking price.

We're not quite sure why they Zolciak-Biermanns would move back into the townhouse when, as it turns out, property records reveal young and bubble-booted Mister Biermann owns a red brick-faced Transitional-Traditional-style residence in the Atlanta suburb of Hoschton, GA he picked up in February 2010 for $395,000. This was right about the time Miz Z-B was going around telling people she was bisexual and involved with some DJ lady and just before she met Mister Biermann in May (2010) and some charity dance competition.

As it turns out Mister Biermann has had the family-sized house in Hoschton on the market since February (2012) with a $400,000 price tag and current listing information we teased up out of the internets shows the approximately 4,200 square foot two-story was built in 2007, sits on .37 acres in a small (un-gated) development and has 5 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, formal living and dining rooms, and open-plan kitchen/family room arrangement, garage parking for 3 cars, 2 fireplaces and homeowners association dues of just $54 per month.

YOUR MAMAS NOTES: Listen chickens, Your Mama feels like veering a little off track this afternoon. Instead of our customary celebrity real estate fare we're gonna have a wee look-see at Artemesia, a wet-your-pants-with-awe Craftsman-style architectural tour de force privately positioned on 1.79 acres in the hills above Hollywood and newly listed with an asking price of $11,995,000.

Listing information shows the hulking but achingly elegant and intricately articulated main house—the largest Craftsman-style house in the U.S., built in 1913 and painstakingly restored and upgraded over the last 25 years by its businessman owner—measures in at 13,250 square feet with 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.

A long, gated drive passes though a porte-cochere, wraps around the front of the house and continues up the hillside to a detached and deliciously stodgy red brick structure with a garage on the lower level and additional living space above for guests or live-in domestic staff.

Numerous terraces and deep, shaded porches surround the house and give way to thickly wooded hillside grounds laced with pathways and dotted with water falls and ponds.

Rather than prattle on endlessly as we're want to do most of the time, we're just gonna leave y'all to gasp, drool and weep with real estate envy. We suggest you take special note of the ceiling treatments in the formal living and dining rooms; the built-in pipe organ in the living room; the 6 enormous Batchelder tile fireplaces; the roller rink-sized ballroom on the lowest level with full bar and the stoutest of stout columns; the intricate, artisanal carpentry throughout; the barrel-vaulted, green-tiled bathroom with step-down shower; and the kill-me-now-we're-in-heaven sleeping porch with Murphy bed.

YOUR MAMAS NOTES: Every now and then a multi-million dollar estate promoted as a celebrity owned home will pop up on the market. Your Mama's years of celebrity real estate experience tells us that more often than not a home pushed on the open market labeled as owned by a famous person usually turns out to be owned by a "famous" person Your Mama ain't never heard of before.

That's not the case with a large, Los Angeles, CA mansion recently listed for $7,850,000 that floridly advertises itself in (online) marketing materials as an "enchanting celebrity-owned villa steeped in romance and generation." As it turns out, we learned first from The Bizzy Boys at Celebrity Address Aerial and then confirmed with property records, the "celebrity-owned villa" is owned by Emmy- and Tony-nominated singer/dancer/actress/writer/producer/director Michele Lee and her producer husband of 25 (or so) years, Fred Rappoport.

'Course, the youngins won't have a clue who Miz Lee is but old people like Your Mama anyone with a high-camp view of Hollywood certainly knows Miz Michele Lee was a frequent game show panelist in the 1960s and '70s (Match Game, Celebrity Sweepstakes, Hollywood Squares) who also appeared multiple times on The Love Boat and Fantasy Island. Her Showbiz salad days really kicked into high gear in 1978 when she landed a starring role on the long-running prime time soap story Knots Landing. The evening melodrama, which also starred Joan van Ark, ran for 14 seasons into the mid-1990s and Miz Lee is the only cast member to appear in all 344 episodes. That may sound bizarrely trivial to someone who farms or saves lives for a living, akin to the Best Attendance Award in sixth grade, but in Tinseltown, where air-time equals money and power for actors and actresses, that is quite an accomplishment.

Since Knots Landing went off the air in 1993, Miz Lee, now 70 years old, hasn't worked much in front of the camera. Perhaps that's by choice and perhaps not. Let's be honest, Hollywood is an ugly, rejecting place for actresses older than 32 or maybe 35. In 1998 she starred in and executive produced the biopic Scandalous Me: The Jacqueline Susann Story and her slender post-millennial credits include a few small parts on the big screen (Along Came Polly) and a number of smaller parts on the small screen (Miss Match, Will & Grace and Family Guy).

Property records aren't entirely clear, but as best as Your Mama can tell, Miz Lee and Mister Rappoport have owned their Los Angeles estate—at times together and separately—since at least July 1992 and possibly longer.

Property records and listing information shows the gated estate encompasses a pair of pie-shaped parcels that total just over an acre on a narrow, quiet lane in the affluent Los Angeles enclave known in real estate circles as Little Holmby Hills, a collection of curving streets lined with large, well-maintained mansions (and mini-mansions) on the western border of the hoity-toity Los Angeles Country Club, just north of Wilshire Boulevard. The property does not, it should be noted, directly back up to the golf course but a gentle but definitive slope from the front of the property to the back allows for an over-the tree tops view of the links from the mansion's second floor balconies.

The red-tile-roofed Mediterranean villa was originally built in 1929 and was updated and upgraded by its current owners who, according to listing information, engaged the services of architect Eli Attia for said renovations. We're not sure how big this place was when it was built in 1929 but listing information indicates it currently weighs in at a quite commodious but far from colossal 9,593 square feet. Each of the five family/guest bedrooms has an attached bathroom, as per listing information, and there are additional staff quarters for those folks who require or desire live-in domestic assistance.

The multi-winged mansion wraps around a double-gated motor court paved with Spanish tiles that continue into the turreted entry and large foyer outfitted with a fireplace and archways that connect to the various wings of the residence. The red tile floors turn to gleaming, wide-plank hardwood in the light flooded formal living room that also features a fireplace, antique-looking wood-beamed ceiling and banks of French doors on three sides that open to the semi-tropically landscaped backyard entertainment areas.

A wide corridor—conveniently outfitted with a sunken built-in wet bar for refreshing cocktails on the way to dinner—connects the formal living room to the formal dining room. One of the mansion's two kitchens comes equipped with a large center island with snack counter, high grade stainless steel appliances, slab granite counter tops, glass-fronted (upper) cabinetry, and a row of arched windows that over look the lush backyard gardens. We're just going to pretend we don't see the pair of pot racks that flank the copper hood over the range top or that deeply upsetting and perplexing, over-sized rooster figurine on the floor by the spiral staircase that, quite frankly, gives Your Mama the heebie-jeebies. Imagine coming up on that thing on a shadowy and boozy late-night candy run? No thank you.

Listing information indicates the Lee-Rappoport residence also includes a cozy den with built in book cases; window-wrapped home office; wine tasting room; substantial (second floor) fitness room; and a multi-level screening room on the main floor where a wide screen rolls magically down from the ceiling in front of a wide, curving grid of square window that overlook the backyard areas.


The second floor master suite includes a sitting room (with fireplace), bedroom area (with breakfast kitchenette), balcony access, and a out-dated but superstar-style boutique-like closet/dressing room with tons of built-in cabinets and hanging racks and an elevated viewing platform with angled, three-panel mirror for checking panty lines.

The back of the house spills out to multi-level brick terraces that surround a swimming pool and spa with outdoor kitchen and cabana. Listing information indicates there's room for a tennis court should the next owner desire one. Secluded stone pathways meander the tree-shaded slope below the house and backyard.

Your Mama remembers reading somewhere—we can't recall just where now—that Miz Lee and Mister Rappoport also maintain a residence in New York City but unfortunately we can't provide the children with any details of that.
