...in case any of y'all care, soon-to-be-divorced Tom Cruise is rumored to be looking at swank (and private) spreads in some of the more expensive communities around New York City where he can play daddy-host to daughter Suri when his visitation times come around.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
So the story goes in the New York Post this morning, Mister Cruise recently took Suri along to peep and poke around an unlisted, 11-acre waterfront spread with a 13,500 square foot main manse in the sleepy river side enclave of Sneden's Landing, NY.
Mister and soon-to-be ex-Missus Cruise already maintain a number of luxury residences that include a Beverly Hills estate bought in 2007 for just over $30,000,000, a gated compound above Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills—bought for close to $10,000,000 in 2005 and rumored by celebrity (property) gossips to be some sort of Scientology retreat, but we don't have any proof of that—a secluded mountain estate in Telluride, CO that Mister Cruise owned long before he ever married Katie, and at least one apartment at the American Felt Building in lower Manhattan's East Village.
There are rumors and reports Tom and Katie coughed up $15,075,000 for a six-story, 8,000+ square foot brownstone in Greenwich Village in summer 2009 but, in truth, we're not convinced they did and certainly we haven't seen any hard evidence of that.
And, of course, let's not forget the New York City apartment soon-to-be-third-ex-Missus Cruise secretly leased—or "secretly" leased, depending on your level of cynicism regarding the matter—as part of her marriage exit strategy. Other high-profile (full and/or part-time) residents of the building are rumored and reported to include Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz, Lisa Stansfield, Bobby Flay, Kyle MacLachlan, and, up in one of the penthouse pads, Nick Jonas.
More Tom Cruise Real Estate News
Even the most casual of celebrity property watchers surely know by now that soon-to-be-thrice-divorced actor Tom Cruise is looking to pick up an East Coast abode where he can host post-divorce visitations with his and Katie Holmes's high-heel wearing toddler daughter Suri.
The latest reports out of the leafy and exceedingly affluent (suburban) enclaves that ring New York City reveal Mister Cruise had a look see at a sprawling 75-acre estate (above) in Greenwich, CT formerly and (in)famously owned by opinionated actor/director Mel Gibson.
Mister Gibson and ex-wife Robin bought the so-dubbed Old Mill Farm estate with its gloriously gloomy 15,800 square foot Tudor-style pile back in 1994 for $9,300,000. After an ice age on the market Mister Gibson finally unloaded the pastoral property in early summer 2010 for $24,000,000.
The unidentified buyers quickly had a real estate change of heart—or maybe they're just trying to make a few million bucks—and flipped the essentially self-contained compound back on the market last month with a much increased asking price of $32,995,000.
Why does this make Your Mama wanna roll our eyes and sigh forlornly? No doubt Mister Cruise can afford to buy whatever mansion tickles his real estate fancy no matter the price. But seriously? A thirty million dollar 75 acre estate in Greenwich? Oh, puh-leeze and bless his showboating real estate heart.
In other, semi-related Tom Cruise real estate news, his second ex-wife Nicole Kidman—now married to and procreating with country music king Keith Urban—quietly sold her glassy New York City pied a terre, as first revealed by the wily property reporters at The Real Deal, for $16,000,000.

Katie Holmes Cruise Moves Out
The celebrity gossips at X17 reported today moving trucks were spotted entering and exiting the Beverly Hills (CA) estate that, until recently, Katie Holmes shared with her soon-to-be-ex-husband Tom Cruise. Presumably the trucks were there to haul someone's things out of the 7 bedroom and 9 bathroom mansion the kaput couple picked up in early 2007 for $30,500,000 but Your Mama don't know a thing about a thing so we really don't know for sure which of the two is schlepping their shit to storage.
Ownership of the 10,000-plus square foot residence, originally built in 1937 and situated privately and securely on 1.2 gated and fortified acres with swimming pool, tennis court and parking lot-sized motor court, is reported by the folks at X17 to be up for grabs, meaning it's not accounted for in the couple's pre-nup. The X17 folks also said the former couple's pre-nup (allegedly) grants third-ex-Missus Cruise ownership of a Montecito, CA mansion, but honestly chickadoodles, Your Mama isn't aware of any Montecito mansion owned by Mister and/or third-ex-Missus Cruise and apparently neither do some top realtors in Montecito, according to local society chronicler Richard Mineards at the Montecito Journal (page 19).
Since their divorce announcement last month Mister Cruise has been spotted on a feverish hunt for a high-priced home in some of the more affluent suburbs around New York City such as Snedens Landing, NY and Greenich, CT and third-ex-Missus Cruise has settled into a rented apartment in a celebrity-friendly building in New York City's Chelsea neighborhood.
